| biography statement |
I suppose it would be hard for me to overstate what I feel is my connection to the New England landscape. The act of painting has challenged and sustained me. It renews the spirit. It is an act of self discovery. My paintings, I hope, record my physical and spiritual response to time alone in nature. The paintings concern experience and metaphor and connect me to Homer, Hartley, and Hopper, whose impulse and choice it was to paint the New England landscape. My paintings aren’t always beautiful but I hope they are always honest.
